Having acknowledged the need and understood the dearth of quality human resources in Indian Hospitality sector, Himgiri Zee University has promised itself to be the panacea for the problems faced by Indian Hospitality sector by initiating a separate department to run 4 years Bachelor of Hotel Management, 4 years Bachelor of Tourism & Travel Management and 1 year Diploma in Food & Beverage production/Room Division and Doctorate degree program. School of Hotel & Hospitality Management is fully equipped with all necessary infrastructure including Basic & Advanced Training Kitchens, Bakery, Restaurant cum Bar, Front Office, Housekeeping Labs, Spacious classroom, well stocked library with learning & training aids..

I am extremely delighted to write to you as the Associate Dean of this wonderful School. It is truly an honour & pride to take up this responsibility entrusted on me by the Honourable Vice Chancellor. Hotel. Hospitality & Tourism industry is one amongst the fastest growing industry in India and abroad, thereby increasing the economy and contributing to country’s largest sources of foreign exchange earnings, revenue generation. The Hospitality and Tourism Industry is also one of the utmost in terms of employment opportunities, lifestyle and a bright future both within the Domestic shores as well as the International arena. It offers a plethora of avenues in Hotels, Airlines, Multinational companies, Cruise lines, Casinos, Customer Care Banking sectors and the list is endless. But at the same time, this industry is facing the shortage of trained and professional manpower. Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, is an Experienced Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Dr Sharma is having a vast experience of various Administrative, Teaching and Professional roles. Before HZU, he was working with CT University Ludhiana, as Head of School and Associate Professor, School of Hotel Management, Airlines & Tourism, before this He worked with Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, as an Assistant Professor, Programme Leader (BHM) and Head Front Office Department in Amity School of Hospitality. Hospitality & Tourism Management at Amity Mauritius, Republic of Mauritius. Bahra University Shimla Hills and IHM Pusa New Delhi. He has participated several national and international workshops, conferences, seminars and FDP’s on Tourism Management, Hospitality Management and Research Methodology. He is also lifetime member in various academic organizations and an active member of Research Foundation of India.
