Pharmacy has historic roots as the art and science of preparing and dispensing medications. While this traditional role is still a viable role for pharmacists, the preparation of medicines has transitioned in large part to the pharmaceutical industry. It is a versatile, dynamic and growing profession. Pharmacists are not only the experts on medications but they are also the most accessible member of healthcare system, and often they are the important source of assistance and advice on many common ailments and healthcare matters. After completion of Pharmacy there is a wide range of working in Pharmaceutical industry including – Research and development, Manufacturing, Packaging, Regulatory affair, Quality control, Clinical Pharmacy and Clinical Research.

The School of Pharmacy is a new aspires of Himgiri ZEE University, established in 2019 to train pharmacy professionals for community and industries. We have well-equipped laboratories, rich library and highly qualified & experienced faculty members.

The primary aim of School is imparting quality education & practical skills to young professionals, conclusively contributing effectively to the field of pharmacy education.

Its gives immense pleasure to welcome you in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Our motive is to train Pharmacists who are well equipped with the comprehensive knowledge, skills and professional attitude and can successfully play their roles in clinical settings and research. Now a day’s Pharmacist is playing an active part at the frontline of medical health worker and we are committed to working harder to meet the expectations from the society and Pharmaceutical Industries. Teaching and Learning is an important part of Academic programmes. We have highly qualified, experienced, motivated and committed faculty members. Apart from the study, we provide the opportunity to the students to take part in the Co-Curricular activities which includes personality development by sharpen their communication skills, expression skills, public speaking, participation and sense of belongingness through different activities like debates and recitation. Prof. Dr Arun Kumar (Principal)

Prof. (Dr.) Arun Kumar, alumnus of Punjabi University Patiala, is M. Pharm., Ph.D. in Pharmacology. Prof. Arun has more than 16 years of experience in academics and research. He has more than 30 research publications in various National and International Journals of repute, and has presented research articles at various Conference and Seminars of academic interest. His areas of interest include Psychopharmacology, Behavioral Studies, Clinical Community Pharmacy practice and Pharmacovigilance. An expert in Brain stroke model & Ischemia models of experimental Pharmacology. He is also associated as life member in APTI and President, APTI Uttarakhand State Branch.

Dr. Jyoti Maithani Kalra

Dr. Jyoti Maithani Kalra has completed her Phd in Pharmaceutics from Shobhit University, Gangoh and M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics from UTU, Dehradun. She has 08 year’s of teaching experience. She has presented many research papers in various conferences. She has attended many national and international conferences, seminars, workshops and faculty development programs. He has published two patents in Indian patent. She has 8 research publication in various National and International Journals of repute. She has published one book of pharmaceutical jurisprudence. Her area of research interest is solubility enhancement. She is also associated as life member in APTI.

Mr. Ashok Kumar

Mr. Ashok Kumar, Alumni of National institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research , Mohali having approximate 10 Years of experiences in teaching and research. He has published 07 research articles in national and international journals. He has appointed as Scientist in Institutional Animal Ethics Committee of different biological Institutional / Industries. He has published one patent in Indian patent office. He is also having one year experience in clinical research. He has guided to several UG students for pharmacy related subjects. He is also associated as life time member in APTI. He received Award 2021 – For dedication and contribution made to the University by Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, Essel group. He has presented 08 posters & oral presentation in national & international seminars & participated more than 35 national and international seminars/conferences , attended 15 Faculty Development Prograrmmes. His area of interest in Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance & Drugs Safety issues.

Mr. Alok Bhatt

Mr. Alok Bhatt, has completed his M. Pharm from Sadar Bahgwan Singh Post Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Balawala, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He has 08 years’ experience in teaching and research. He has published 11 research articles in various national and international journals. He has attended more than 52 national and international conferences, seminars, FDP and workshop. He has presented many research papers in various conferences. He has published 03 Indian patent. His area of research interest is isolation and evaluation of active chemical constituents from medicinal plants. He had guided 14 UG students for their project work/dissertation. He received Award For dedication and contribution made to the University in 2021. He is also handling the various instruments in Pharmaceutical laboratory. He is a life time member of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) and Indian Society of Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs (ISPRA).

Mrs. Deepika Chandra

Mrs. Deepika Chandra having 7 years 4 months’ experience in teaching and research. Leadership, management skills and Team work for conducting activities. She has attended more than 15 national and international conferences, seminars and workshop. She has presented many research papers in various conferences. She has published 8 research articles in various national and international journals. She has guided 7 UG and 2 PG students for her project/dissertation. Her area of research interest is isolation and evaluation of active chemical constituents from medicinal plants and skilled for hands on exposure to demonstrate technical set up to conduct lab experiments. During Master research worked on- 2-Azetidinone derivatives by spectral characterization such as elemental analysis, IR, 1HNMR and Mass spectroscopy. Evaluation of Biological activities: Study of antimicrobial activity by cup plate method, Antidiabetic activity was performed by Streptozotocin Induced Diabetes in Rats. Instrumentation handling-UV spectrophotometer, FTIR, Chem. draw, Chem. sketch, Melting Point Machine, Graph pad prism, MS Office, Computer Diploma “O”Level. Adopted online Teaching and learning methodologies for students by completing Coursera Certification from University of California Irvin.

Mrs. Nidhi Chaudhary

Mrs. Nidhi Chaudhary has 5.7 year experience in teaching and research. She has published 04 research and review articles in National and international journals. Her areas of interest include Pharmacovigilance, testing on biological specimens such as animals and clinical research. She has attended 15 national and international conferences, seminars and workshops and 04 faculty development program. She had guided 05 UG students for their project work. Her bestest achievement was being a Gold medalist in M. Pharm (Pharmacology) awarded by Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU) in fifth convocation.

Mrs. Jagriti Gairola

Mrs. Jagriti Gairola has 3 years’ experience in teaching and research. She has published 03 research articles in various national and international journals. Her area of research interest is Medicinal chemistry, analytical chemistry, drug discovery, synthetic organic chemistry and development of novel drugs.

Dr. Divya Negi Rawat

Dr. Divya Negi Rawat, alumni of SGRR University Dehradun, having 01 year of experience in drug associate, with demonstrated history of working in the hospital and 2 years of experience in teaching. She has attended more than 12 National, International conferences seminar, workshop, 04 Faculty Development Programme and 15 days skill Development programme on – Basic and Laboratory Aspects of Pharmacovigilance. She has published one research article in National journal. Her areas of interest are Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety Issues.

Manish Nawani

I have 3 year of industrial experience in Q.A department as a Q.A officer and also have 1 year acdememic experience.

Research Area / Interest :

Formulation of polymeric bioflexi films for the administration of drug via soft palatal drug delivery route.

Hobbies/extracurricular/other achievements:

Presented oral presentation entitled Development and evaluation of nanosized risperidone loaded bio-flexi film of Vigna radiata via soft palatal route of oral cavity.
Attend a webinar on SARC-CoV-2 life cycle in a host cell. Potential therapeutic targets for repurposed and experimental drugs for COVID-19.

Anjali Bisht

Mrs. Anjali Bisht has 05-months teaching experience. She has completed her masters from SBS University, Balawala, Dehradun. Her Area of interest is Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology.
